Increase Your Google AdSense Revenue
by Knowing How to Position Your Ads

The goal of many advertisers is to increase their Google AdSense revenue.

Once the ads have been placed some site owners believe the money will automatically come flooding in.

This is typically not the case.

There are many things that affect an ad's performance.

You Need Traffic

One of the biggest things you need to consider is the amount of traffic you are able to bring to your website.

There is only a small percentage of visitors to your site that will actually click on an ad box. That means the more visitors you get, the more your ad will get clicked.

Regardless of what you do with your website, you need to take marketing into consideration. The time you spend learning how to effectively market your site will benefit you greatly. An increase in revenue from the Google AdSense program is only one of the benefits.

Keywords Matter

Another thing to consider is the keywords your site is built around.

Not all keywords are equal.

Some keywords in less popular niches can bring in as low as a few cents per click. On the other hand, there are some keywords that can bring in several dollars per click.

Finding the best keywords to use makes a huge different in how much you can earn with Google. You need to either find keywords with a lot of competition or find high priced items that marketers are willing to pay more for to attract customers.

Place Ads Where They Can Be Seen

Another consideration that affects Google AdSense revenue is the ad placement on the webpage. Marketers have shown that the location on a page can make a big difference in how well the ad performs. This needs to be considered when you are designing your website.

The best performing ad spots are along the top of your page starting from left to right. That means that ads to the left of the page earn more than ads in the top right. You also have better Google AdSense revenue by placing ads “above the fold.”

Many people will come to your site only to find that it is not exactly what they are looking for. They will scan the first part of a page and then leave your site without going to the lower part of the page.

If your ads are up top (above the fold: before they have to start scrolling down), people will see them and they may click the ad.

The main thing is to make sure your ads are placed in a location where they can be seen. You want them to be noticed but not in a way that distracts the viewers from the content of your page. If your ads are too irritating, people will not respond.

If you have good ad placement and you can generate traffic to your site, you will see an increase in your Google AdSense revenue. It is a great way to take advantage of the traffic that visits your site.
