If you have a website, you may want to consider joining the Google AdSense program as a way to add a second stream of income.

It a good example of how you can earn some residual income.

Once you set it up it requires very little maintenance.

There are other income generating methods that work but they require you to do work to maintain the system.

Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in a day in which to work.

You are limited to the number of different programs you can run because of the time they require.

That is one of the things that makes the Google AdSense program so appealing to many internet marketers. It does not require extra time in order to make money. It takes advantage of the time you are already putting in. You get a chance to earn extra money from your site's visitors.

AdSense is part of a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) program. Some other marketer has paid Google to run their ads as part of this program. Every time someone clicks on the link in one of the ads, that ad owner pays Google the amount that was bid.

That is where you come in. For this program to work, Google needs website owners to be willing to display those ads for them. In order to get you to do that, Google will pay you a portion of what they earn on that ad box. Every time your site’s visitors click a link, you get paid.

The nice part is, you are already doing the work. You are already marketing your site and attracting customers. Right now the people that are not interested in what you are offering just leave, and they take their money with them.

Capture the Money that is Leaving Your Site

The Google AdSense program allows you to capture a portion of the money that was just clicking away from your site. Now you are showing them something else they might be interested in. If they are interested enough to click the link, that is money in your account.

For most website owners this is not a get rich quick kind of program. Unless your website can attract an incredibly large number of visitors on a regular basis, it may only be a trickle, and not necessarily a stream of income. Remember, you are only earning a portion of what Google gets.

How much can you earn?

That is hard to say. There are a couple of factors that affect your potential earnings. The first is the amount of traffic and the second is the niche your site is focused on. If you can generate high traffic in a popular niche you can earn a substantial amount of money.

It Requires Good Internet Marketing

A successful Google AdSense program is the result of good marketing. You need a large amount of traffic in order to make more than a small amount of money. You need to be aware that only a small percentage of your visitors will actually click on one of the ads.

If you have a website that only has 20 to 50 visitors a day, you may only get a few clicks per day. If you can push your sites traffic to over 1,000 visitors per day you may be able to earn considerably more money.

You also need to consider the niche. In less popular niches marketers do not have to bid as much money to get a good listing. The less they bid, the less you earn. In some less popular niches you may only earn a few cents per click.

Like many programs, the Google AdSense program has its advantages and disadvantages. Some sites may not be able to generate the kind of traffic that it takes to earn much money. On the other hand, it is money that does not require extra effort.
