This is one unfortunate thing that goes on in the world of internet marketing. It has gotten so bad that some people market information products that claim to teach you haw to do it without getting caught.

Do not fall for the scam. First, despite their claims, you will get caught. If you get caught you will receive a lifetime ban from AdSense for your efforts.

Think about it; if it was that easy to cheat at AdSense and not get caught, why aren’t they doing it?

Chances are these marketers are trying to sell this information to you because they have had their accounts shut down by Google. They have to sell you these reports and ebooks to make money because they got caught by Google.

You Will Get Caught

The truth is, it is very difficult to cheat Google AdSense and not get caught. They have complex programs running that are designed to track where clicks come from, and who is doing the clicking. Google is very vigilant when it comes to “click fraud.”

AdSense is an easy way to generate a stream of income that will last for years to come. As long as you bring traffic to your site, the money will continue to come in. When you attempt to cheat Google AdSense, it all changes.

Instead of an ongoing income stream, once you get caught the money stops. You might be able to bank a very short-term increase in income, but you will have killed the golden goose.

Google is Watching

There are a few areas in particular that Google watches very closely. The first is site operators that click ads on their own site. They are unforgiving in this area. If you get caught doing that even once, you will have your account terminated. Do not do it even once.

Another area that Google watches is a significant increase in clicks from any particular website. If the click count on a site suddenly jumps Google notices and they begin to check it out. This is especially true if your click through rate increases too much.

Google understands that site owners are engaged in marketing to increase the traffic to their site.

They also know that when a marketing campaign is effective that it can bring sudden increases in traffic. However, when that happens, your click through rate would still remain consistent.

AdSense Click Through Rate

The click through rate is the percentage of people that click on an ad box that is shown to them on your website. If 100 people visit a web page and 3 people actually click on an AdSense ad, you have a 3% click through rate.

A sign that site owners are attempting to cheat Google AdSense is when a click through rate makes a dramatic jump. If the traffic to your site remains consistent, but your click through rate jumps from 3% to 10%, Google will suspect that something is going on.

The bad part about Google being so vigilant against click fraud is that there are many instances where innocent site owners are caught in the net.

Google does not fire a warning shot. You will become aware of the problem when you get your notice that you have been banned.

If you are trying to use AdSense as a source of income you need to be very careful not to appear as if you are trying to cheat Google AdSense.
